We are pleased to share our mid-year update, capturing the progress AWE for Nature has made with our flagship initiative, the Chewore Conservation Trust.
In the first half of 2025, we have focused on building strong foundations for sustainable conservation finance in Zimbabwe.
Here are some key highlights from the report:
Chewore South is serving as a pilot site for two groundbreaking projects – Animating the Carbon Cycle (ACC) and Biodiversity Credits – as part of our commitment to exploring finance models that unlock new pathways for climate finance which reward biodiversity protection.
Alongside these pilots, we have strengthened governance and infrastructure in Chewore South, deepened community engagement to address human–wildlife conflict, expanded partnerships with leading conservation and finance organisations, and grown our institutional capacity through new boards and fundraising channels.
This report outlines these achievements and the next steps in our mission to create a scalable conservation model that benefits both people and nature.
